ISF is a network of Christian athletes, coaches, and Project Coordinators, who work to share the Gospel, provide discipleship, start new churches, and take Christ's love where traditional mission efforts can't go. What We Do
ISF takes requests from missionaries who are using sports to change the world. ISF players, coaches, sports fans, and friends make a difference by leading clinics, playing games, participating in tournaments, ministering at large sporting events, providing sports medicine skills, and through their commitment to be an example of Christ with their testimonies, attitudes, actions, prayers, and lives.
Where We Go
In the last ten years, volunteer sports teams worked with missionaries in more than 40 countries on six continents. These teams played in national arenas, on small dirt courts, with children and Olympic athletes, on college campuses, and on the open fields of elementary schools. God turned these sports fields, courts, and gymnasiums into platforms where His love could be shared with over 20,000 people. Each year ISF receives more than 100 requests for sports teams. A number of these requests are in areas restricted to Christian missions by operations or local laws.
Who Can Go
Volunteers 16 yrs and older can participate on sports projects. Volunteers are responsible for raising their own financial support. Upon request, ISF will supply information on how to raise support for a mission project. ISF receives requests that can be filled by professional athletes, current college players, high school players, athletic trainers, recreational athletes, and coaches. Needs vary by request. There are also many opportunities for volunteers who are not athletic but have a strong heart from sports missions. |
