Runner's Camp International

Purpose: The Runner’s Camp exists “to provide an opportunity for children to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ through the sport of track and field.” Ministry Activities: The Runner’s Camp is a one-week Christian day camp centered on the sport of track and field. The camp is held annually at a local track for five days from 8am to 12pm each day. Campers are divided into groups by age and sex and report each morning in their respective tent where their age groups leaders teaches a short Gospel–based devotional. After the devotional and a short warm-up campers move campers move into a three or four station rotation where they learn about five fields events and seven running events. As part of the rotation they also play a several games over the course of the week and they receive a snack each day. At the end of each morning’s rotation portion campers are assembled for a big group worship time in the stands. There is a track meet on the last day of the camp for all the camps in five field events and seven running events. Parents and family members are encouraged to come and watch the races.
