You have probably heard of the 'Invisible Children' of northern Uganda. God has opened the doors for SportsPlus to take a team there in 2008. This is an area that has experienced a lot of trauma due to war between the Ugandan government and the Lord's Resistance Army. Girls were kidnapped to become prostitutes and boys were taught to fight and kill. Now that they are trying to work out a "peace accord" and people are returning to the villages, these children have many deep scars and need someone to minister to them and give them hope for their future.
Our SportsPlus team will help local pastors host a sports and recreation camp for these children in efforts to minister to these broken lives. We will use sports and games as an instrument in bringing about Psalm 147:3 to these children: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We will use this opportunity to show these children how to have fun and hopefully regain a sense of what it is like to be a child again.
The SportsPlus training camp will take place from June 3-5, 2008. Volunteers will train with other mission teams and will then depart from the Atlanta airport on June 5 to go on their mission.

| Extra Cost Considerations: | The total cost of this project is $1,100 + airfare. This includes a two day training camp in Atlanta, team outfitting, on-field transportation, lodging, meals, insurance, and all other mission-related expenses. Sightseeing and souvenir expenses are not included in this final project cost. |
